Simple Signature
This tutorial with guide you through how to make a simple signature with a brushed metal effect:
| 1. | Open Photoshop and create a new image. I used 500x150 |
| 2. | Select the rounded rectangle tool and set the radius to 20px with any colour |
| 3. | With the rounded rectangle tool selected draw the rectangle and make it fill up most of the image |
| 4. | You can either leave it in it's current position or you can center it by pressing Ctrl + A or go to Select then All |
| 5. | Then select the Move Tool or press V |
| 6. | Then on the top toolbar click both center aligns |
| 7. | Now right click the new layer which is your shape and click Rasterize Layer |
| 8. | Then right click it again and select Blending Options |
| 9. | Tick the Bevel and Emboss box and the Pattern Overlay box |
| 10. | For the Bevel and Emboss use these settings: |
| 11. | Click OK |
| 12. | Download this JPG file and open it in photoshop |
| 13. | Then go to Edit and select Define Pattern and give it a name. |
| 14. | Open up the Blending Options for the layer again and select the Pattern Overlay tab |
| 15. | And use these settings: |
| 16. | Then select the arrow next to the pattern example and select the last patter, which should be the one you just made |
| 17. | Then press OK |
| 18. | Duplicate this layer and use these Blending Options: I used #99ffff for the colour. I used #003399 for the colour. Highlight Mode: #FFFFFF For the gradient I used #66CCFF to #0066CC For the stroke I used #000033 |
| 19. | Then press OK and move the layer to below the brushed metal layer |
| 20. | Right click the Background Layer and click Delete. Select Yes from the options |
| 21. | Then type the text that you want on the signature |
| 22. | Press Ctrl + Click on the small image by the text |
| 23. | Select the brushed metal layer and press Delete |
| 24. | Either delete the text layer or hide it. Do the same with any pictures you want to add. |
| 25. | Save as a PNG. This will keep the transparency or you can save as JPG. Saving as JPG will give the image a background. So rather than deleting the Background Layer, you can set it to what you want |
| 26. | This is what I got:
