Abstract Wallpaper This tutorial with guide you through how to make a nice Abstract Wallpaper:  (Click for larger version) |
| 1. | Open Photoshop and create a new document. I'm using 1024x768. |
| 2. | Set the Colours to White and Black like this: | |
| 3. | Set the Gradient Tool to these settings:

| 4. | Now go crazy with the Gradient Tool on the Canvas, do around 50 or 60 strokes. |
| 5. | Duplicate this layer and press Ctrl + U |
| 6. | Tick the colourize and set to a colour of your choice. |
| 7. | Set the Blending Mode to Overlay |
| 8. | Create a new layer and do the same again. Go crazy with the gradient tool and set the colour of the layer to another colour not using Ctrl + U. Set this layers Blending Mode to Overlay. |
| 9. | Repeat step 8 2 or 3 more times |
| 10. | Now on Layers 2, 3, 4 and 5 go to Filter » Render » Difference Clouds. You will have to do these one by one. Render these clouds twice for each of these layers |
| 11. | Create a new layer and fill with White, set the Blending Mode to Soft Light |
| 12. | Create a new layer and go crazy with the Gradient Tool again. |
| 13. | Go to Filter » Render » Lens Flare |
| 14. | Set to 105mm Prime with brightness set to 100% |
| 15. | Repeat this 2 more times, but don't use Ctrl + F as this will put another Lens Flare on top of the other one, this is not what we want, So go through to Filter » Render » Lens Flare and place the Flare in a different place. |
| 16. | Once you have done that go to Filter » Sketch » Chrome |
| 17. | Set it to: Detail: 5 Smoothness: 10 |
| 18. | Go to Filter » Blur » Gaussian Blur and set to 2px |
| 19. | Now set the layers Blending Mode to Vivid Light |
| 20. | This is what I got:
